Ash, congratulations, a cracking uh drive. Uh crossing the line, I think about 20 seconds uh ahead of uh P2 and P3.

SPEAKER_01

I mean there's two theories to that. We we wanted to stretch out a gap for if there's an issue, the imaginary penalty that we uh in case one comes along, so we we aim to go above 10 seconds, but at the same time, when you're racing tire uh cars that are on a hard tyre, I mean there was no other soft car got through, so it's quite easy to stretch out a big gap like that. I had a load of button, they didn't, so yeah. I mean you had the combination together, it's just a couple of seconds of lap delta, like the lat the tire is about 1.2, and the boost round here is about eight empty, so you can really stretch out a gap quite quickly. Um and obviously they're in the heat of the battle, I'm not. So yeah, I mean we were just banking on getting a gap for the fact that if there's a bit of wet weather or a lot of wet weather at the end, I've got a load of margin to play with. It was due to rain, it did the last two laps. Not quite as much as we were expecting, but there was a theory behind stretching that out.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, absolutely. Uh that just that rain coming at the end as well. I mean, I was talking to a couple of the other drivers, and there's a little bit of panic setting in, but probably not for you because you'd built that gap.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and that's the whole reason why we did. So um I backed off massively on the last few laps. There's no point risk. I would look like a fool, wouldn't I, if I locked up and put it in the gravel. So that's why we built that gap out. We've got a load of margin to play with.

SPEAKER_00

The um the race previous, which didn't quite go completely to plan it, I I was watching and it looked as if you un uncharacteristically were driving with a bit of red mist.

SPEAKER_01

In that one, sorry. No, the big one. In the previous one, we were just stuck in a bit of a heat train, no boost. The car was a bit beaten up, she wasn't really square anymore. Um yeah, I I mean if we stay was able to stay at the front, but obviously a lap one contact put us back in the pack. So if we were able to stay near the front, we would have been in a much better position. But look, it's one of those, it is what it is, storing car racing, but we bounce back.

SPEAKER_00

It's a great win and keeping the pressure on, maximum points.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, uh yeah, we're maximizing everything, fastest lap, lead laps, etc. So you've got to, you never know when your bad day's gonna come. So uh yeah, let's see what race three does. I'm hoping for some rain because then I don't have to use the hard tire, but let's wait and see.

SPEAKER_00

You pulled eleven, didn't you?

SPEAKER_01

Which is well, unfortunately for me, but we put Sam on pole. So that's awesome. So it gives him a great opportunity in this last one. Fantastic. Great drive, Ashwell.
