Sandra, good to see you back uh in a BTC seat uh which uh you've just been telling me came about rather unexpectedly early doors this morning.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, uh yeah that's uh that's the case. It's it's it's great to be in the car. Um in maybe not in these circumstances, but you know so great to get the opportunity. Uh Sam was feeling a little bit under the weather last night um and woke up this morning, you know, not feeling great. So we uh health's the most important thing, and you know making sure that he gets well and all that sort of stuff is the most important thing. So we he made the decision to step aside um this weekend to to make sure that he could prioritise that. So I've stepped in the car this weekend um a bit of a hectic morning before FP1, but we managed to get some good uh good laps under our belt and we seem to be you know on the money by the end of the day.

SPEAKER_01

You're making a habit of jumping into a car at the last minute at Truxton and and doing rather well.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, it seems to be um although it is really high speed, I suppose it is technical as well, but there's only two major braking zones, and I've always enjoyed the high speed stuff, so it's not it's not too alien for me to come here, it kind of suits me. So yeah, if um I just maybe don't want to be starting the season all the time on through. Maybe we could maybe next year we can do the start of the year.

SPEAKER_01

Um that was a fast and furious qualifying uh session. Prior to that, we'd had the medium tire used for the first time around uh Truxton. Now what do you make of that?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that was my first qualifying race actually. So um yeah, the 15-minute qualifying and then the splitting the groups and kind of merging into one. We started P4, kind of messed the start up a little bit, and we had a uh we had a bit of a bad start in the in the qualifying race, but we still managed to come home P5, so we can't, you know, if you'd have to if you said that at the start of the day I'd have took it. In regards to the medium tire, really good. Yeah, I actually really enjoyed it going around here and the hard tire we always mo and has no grip, it has a lot of grip around here, but when because of the abrasive surface, but when you put a medium tire on a British touring car round here, it just turns into something else, and it was um really difficult putting it on in qualifying, having never been on a medium round here before. Your first time was your first qualifying lap, so it was um there was a lot of learning to do, and I think we did quite a good job of getting the most out of it. There's probably a little bit more, but you know, we can't uh we can't be too displeased with how the day's gone.

SPEAKER_01

We'll wait for that to come around and just finally, I mean it must be quite satisfying that you're you're right in there in the mix with with Ash and Dan Camish right at the front end.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Obviously we have um a little bit more on the boost allocation than them. Um but yeah, my kind of lack of experience this year, shall we say, makes up for that. So we're we're not far off them yet. We're we s we seem to be hanging on to them then, shall we say. So we next time hopefully we're pushing around and then next time we might be in front of them.

SPEAKER_01

We wish Sam Osborne all the best, obviously. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But good to see you back, Senator. Absolutely, thank you very much.
