Aiden Moffat - Race 3 Donington Park GP 23rd August 2026
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Well that was pretty good wasn't it?
SPEAKER_01Yeah happy with that. I knew we just had to get a good start, which the team have changed things and that was a big difference being able to hold position uh into turn one and build the race from there. So they've changed some things that have um cured the issue we've had all year. So fair play to the team. Um and from there I knew how quick Adam was, so Adam and Chris were side by side. I tried to uh nudge Adam through because I thought if he can go and I can go with him, we've got a chance at holding on to second. Um I didn't want to get caught battles, so yeah, it was really nice to try and give him a fight for the win. But I think um the pace that Mercedes has had this weekend, it was pick your battle and uh to come away for second. I feel like we I feel like we needed that.
SPEAKER_00But you're encouraged, are you, with what you're saying that it's been solved with the car?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean there's a lot of things, there's still that's that's a new car, we're still learning a lot, but that's um I think we've fixed our issue that's been killing us all year off the start line, and that's the biggest part. So if um lose a couple of spaces at the start, it's a very different race. There if you gain a place, so that was a massive help, and um yeah, I think this car last meeting we would have been dropped fourth or fifth into turn one, and it would have been a very different race. So, yeah, that was a massive part of the part of the race for us.
SPEAKER_00Now, heading into croft, how are you feeling at this end of the season?
SPEAKER_01A lot bloody better than I did yesterday. Yeah, a lot better now. Um it's been very mentally hard this year with a lot of pace and nothing to show, so still have not in a podium yet this year. So get getting that second, it's um yeah, I think it's quite good for the mental health, shall we say, because there's a lot of reasons in your head, and when things are going against you so much and so many issues, it's um you get in your head a lot. Um you lose the head, you lose the heart, and uh really it lifts you and um gives you some motivation and hunger back.
SPEAKER_00Quite right too. Well, you take all this cred congratulations, going into Croft and all the very best there.
SPEAKER_01Thank you very much.
